PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Contra Costa County, Office of the Sheriff – Martinez, CA

Deputy Sheriff                                                                                                                           August 2016 to January 2025, Retired

• Patrol Deputy. Responsible for enforcing laws, maintaining public safety, and responding to emergencies within the county.

• Classifications Deputy. Duties include the safety and security and housing of inmates at three facilities. Approximate total of 1,500 inmates within three county facilities.

• Member of the Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) auxiliary duty to Classifications Deputy. SERT responsibilities include maintaining order in the jail in addition to normal functions. Operations include searching for contraband and illegal drugs.

• Police Officer Standard Training (POST) certified for advanced officer training and the training of police recruits at a basic Police Academy, in defensive tactics and taser.

• Volunteer as a cadet advisor for the Youth County Program.

• Auxiliary duties:

  • Post Certified Police Basic Academy – Defensive tactics and taser instructor

  • Critical incident trainer

  • Force option simulator instructor

 

VWR – South San Francisco, CA

• Managed a team of 8 customer service staff to ensure Genentech employees had fully equipped laboratory equipment supply rooms and a fully staffed support team to meet the needs of the customer. Worked with Genentech as a VWR supervisor ensuring proper protocols were followed.

• Oversaw a multi-million-dollar inventory of scientific supplies.

 

United States Marine Corps – Camp Pendleton, CA

• Successfully led and managed 40 enlisted Marines on a daily basis, including their training, mentoring, and record management.

Tool Room Supervisor                                                                                                                                                    July 2013-June 2014

• Ensured and accounted for $2 million worth of gear, including ordering and replacing parts and equipment.

• Ensured the calibration of tools to keep them maintained to the manufacturer’s specifications.

• Ensured the daily distribution of tools to sixty personnel without any loss of equipment.

• Passed yearly internal review for accountability and inventory history for operational readiness.

 

Mechanic                                                                                                                                                                December 2011-July 2013

• Experienced diagnostic technician for diesel engines with supervisory experience managing a team of mechanics.

• Used an Oracle Based Maintenance Management System to receive broken gear and track progress during the maintenance process.

• Conducted troubleshooting and inspection of gear to ensure it was returned in functioning condition, on time, and on budget.
